Hi, I'm Andrei Lavrenov.

Full-stack engineer. I design and ship web and mobile software end-to-end — frontend, backend, database, infra. I pick tools by the shape of the problem: Next.js for full-stack apps with state, auth, and real-time; Astro when content-first is the right answer.

Currently: building Descent, a satellite re-entry prediction platform for CubeSat and smallsat teams — orbital-lifetime forecasts with the TLE provenance to put in an ODAR or FCC filing (project page). Still running helldivers.bot, a live campaign dashboard for the 2015 game — full case study on the projects page.

I also do 3D modeling and motion design as a side gig, not the headline. The web and app work is where I spend most of my hours.

Experience

  • Solo developer — helldivers.bot2025 — present

    Designing, building, and running a production Next.js 16 PWA alongside a PostgreSQL/Prisma backend, Umami analytics, GlitchTip observability, and Docker-based deploys to a self-managed VPS. Full case study at /projects/helldivers-bot.

  • Freelance — web & media2020 — 2022

    Designed and built websites and media for small Belgian businesses, including Poortcentrum (aluminium gates, Booischot) and Tania Tours — everything from first client call to hosting.

  • Intern developer — Federal Police of Belgium2019

    Built the Echo mock-API tool so internal teams could develop against realistic fake data without touching privacy-sensitive production systems. Part of my Associate Degree in Industrial Informatics at Howest.
